When and if, Brandon ever pastors a church in the US, (I should say when because I really believe he will someday) you will be such an awesome pastor's wife Jenny. Just as you do such an awesome job as a missionary.

Hope I am still around when that happens. I am so proud of you and Brandon for your obvious devotion to God and to the ministry He has given you to do.

Michelle - With the kids that missed their bus, we don't know them. They are like 8 and 14, and they are two boys that roam the neighborhoods to try to find work. We usually pay them to wash the car or shine our shoes, but they are not allowed in our house. I wouldn't allow them in my house in the states either, seeing as I have two little kids that would be at risk. They aren't like neighborhood kids whose parents you know.

Also, even if we didn't have kids, we could wake up with our TV gone, our DVDs, and any other valuables that those kids could find! We have SO MUCH more than they do, it just isn't a good idea to invite them in to see just how much better we live than they do. I mean, most likely, they live in an adobe house with a tin room, dirt floors, and curtains strung up for doors. They might not have a bathroom in their house, and they for sure don't have a washer/dryer.

Anyway, so that is the situation with the kids. Does that make sense? Maybe I should have put that in the original post. Love ya!

What was the concern with the kids who said they missed their bus? Do you not know them well enough to stay over or is it unsafe to have kids stay at your house?

Never been to Guatemala or really anywhere outside of the USA (except Canada and parts of Mexico). I am fascinated with your stories of living outside of the USA. You are a blessing to the ones around you. May God bless your family and your ministry!

Jenny - wow! That is encouraging! So, you guys are at a new church? We just had an experience where we spoke at a very small church that was struggling and we gained 2 monthly supporters there! We have spoken at much bigger churches and nothing. God does things His way! :) I will be praying for your Bible Study and the women who attend! Keep us updated! BTW- do you know if the orphanage you work at needs any clothes? I have a friend who owns a resale shop and she said if we ever needed anything for Guatemala just let her know. So... :)

That quilt is beautiful. What a precious gift to receive. The gift bag is so cute too. You are just so very creative. I loved reading the things the kids are saying. All three of my grand children (soon to be four) are just so smart. I am looking forward to seeing them all in just two months.

And the kid-isms...precious!! The Englishmen comment made me laugh out loud too. D's age is so much fun (so frustrating at times, but rewarding nonetheless). You just never know what's going to come out of their mouths. Their interpretation of the world is just funny. =)

I've been wondering how your pregnancy was going. Sorry to hear you're exhausted. It's so hard to be a mommy when you have trouble keeping your eyes open, huh?

I'm actually thinking I'm almost over the morning sickness. I'm feeling sick about half the time now as opposed to all day and night. With Hannah I started feeling relief around week 13. I'll be 12 weeks Monday, so not too much longer.

Glad you're back in the blogosphere! =) Oh, and I'd love to see pictures of the quilt.

At those prices you can eat out after church every Sunday. Or a lot of the time when time is short and kids are tired. I am so glad you have good places to "eat out" there. It does help to have a good place to get pizza or hamburgers. I miss that here. The good things about living in a third world make life a little easier. Haiti is no where near Guatemala in having the "good things" I am glad you'll live there. I love it when you blog.

I've been thinking about getting a sling to carry Samuel in but they sure are pricey. He's 12 months now and I imagine I could carry him in a sling like that for a while longer and it wouldn't break my back like carrying him regularly. Thanks for sharing.

I completely understand your questions but we must also understand that there are seasons of life. I homeschool my 3 boys, and, therefore, see my biggest area of "works" as discipling my children, raising them up and helping them find God's purpose in their lives. I also am a helper for my husband and encourager to him. When my children are grown and gone, I'm sure there will be other opportunities for me. I take this career of mothering, and teaching very seriously and see it as the place God has put me to serve at this point in time. (ie: Ministry of Motherhood - Sally Clarkson - Wholeheart Ministries)

We all should be seeking to serve and be God's hands here on earth and how that plays out will be as different as each person's walk with Christ.
